No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good,
    and this is what he requires of you:

    and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

“Be strong and courageous! Don’t be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria or his mighty army, for there is a power far greater on our side! He may have a great army, but they are merely men. We have the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!” Hezekiah’s words greatly encouraged the people.
2 Chronicles 32:7-8

• Justice and mercy go together but they will look different every time depending on the person and situation. 
• We all need mercy and we can show others the mercy with which we want to be shown. Humble means to realize we are all imperfect and all need God’s mercy. 
• Justice for the oppressed and the injured is of high priority to God. 
• Mercy does not mean restoring someone to their position of leadership if they have proven to be untrustworthy. God holds spiritual leaders and teachers highly accountable. “May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership…For he never thought of doing a kindness, but hounded to death the poor and the needy and the brokenhearted.” Psalm 109:8,16 (NIV)
• Mercy and justice can be better discerned when we listen and understand someone’s heart.
