But as for me, I am filled with power—
with the Spirit of the LORD.
I am filled with justice and strength
to boldly declare Israel’s sin and rebellion.

Micah 3:8

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
are only a small village among all the people of Judah.
Yet a ruler of Israel,
whose origins are in the distant past,
will come from you on my behalf.
Micah 5:2

• Micah lived in Moresheth in the southern kingdom of Judah. 
• He lived at the same time Isaiah was alive in Jerusalem. 
• Micah warned that God would allow Assyria to take out the northern kingdom. 
• Micah warned that Babylon would bring even more destruction. 
• Micah spoke on behalf of God to accuse Israel. 
• In the midst of accusations and warnings, Micah also brings a message of hope and restoration. 
• Micah’s message begins with accusing Israel’s leaders of practicing injustice. 
• There is hope found in God’s promise to not abandon His people. 
• There is hope found in covenant renewal through Messiah. 
• There is hope found in God’s mercy. 
• There is hope found in God’s restoration.
• God’s judgment is a source of hope…His love and promises are more powerful than human evil. 
• God’s judgment is a source of hope…His ultimate purpose is to save and to redeem. 

Know the heart of God. See it on every page of Scripture. Look for it in every moment of your life. He is our hope.
