What sorrow awaits my rebellious children,” says the LORD. “You make plans that are contrary to mine. You make alliances not directed by my Spirit, thus piling up your sins.

Isaiah 30:1

• Who have I aligned myself with?
• Who have I consulted in matters regarding me?
• What plans have I made without the Lord’s input?

The result in such decisions is sorrow, humiliation, disgrace, calamity, and shame.I’ve discovered that I am responsible, my decisions are the cause of much of my sorrow, humiliation, disgrace, calamity, and shame.However, all hope is not lost.

The Lord waits.

• So, the LORD must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. 
  Isaiah 30:18

The Lord blesses.

• Then the LORD will bless you with rain at planting time. There will be wonderful harvests and plenty of pastureland for your livestock.
  Isaiah 30:23

Who or what is my Egypt, my go-to for help instead of God?

What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 31:1

Avoid sorrow, humiliation, disgrace, calamity, and shame by:

• Aligning myself with God, His Will and godly people.
• Consulting God on all matters concerning me.
• Making no plans without God’s favor and blessing.
