Scripture:

NUMBERS 14:1-15:41

Do I Need A New Attitude?

But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others have. He has remained loyal to me, so I will bring him into the land he explored. His descendants will possess their full share of that land.‍

Numbers 14:24

‍

My Takeaways

Something Old

Have I ever been on the edge of my place of promise only for God to turn me back because of my attitude?

Do I have a spirit of

  • Rebellion or cooperation?
  • Commitment to God or waywardness?
  • Obedience or disobedience?
  • Self-centeredness or God-centeredness?

My attitude can determine my direction and the destiny of descendants.

  • Examine me, O LORD, and try me; Test my mind and my heart.
    Psalm 26:2 (NASB) ‍
  • LORD, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You.
    Psalm 38:9 (ESV) ‍
  • Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.
    Psalm 44:21 (NASB)

Questions to ask myself?

  • What have I missed because I had the wrong attitude?
  • How often has God turned me around because of my attitude?
  • What will my descendants experience, or not experience because of my attitude?
  • Does it seem like I am wandering? Like my direction keeps changing? Maybe I need to change my attitude.

Something New

They actually plotted to go back.

Then they plotted among themselves, β€œLet’s choose a new leader and go back to Egypt!”
Numbers 14:4

‍

Something To Do

Allow Holy Spirit to check my attitude.
