So, they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: “The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge."
Numbers 13:32
What is my response to difficult situations?
Or
"They saw the same spectacles in their survey of the land; but the result in the one case was panic, in the other confidence and peace. What made the difference? It lay in this, that the ten spies compared themselves with the giants, whilst the two compared the giants with God." - FB Meyer – comparing the Ten spies to Caleb and Joshua
What we report to ourselves can greatly influence our faith.
What we report to others can greatly influence their faith.
"The remarkable fact is that in their report there was no reference to God. They would seem to have lost sight of Him completely for the time being." - G. Campbell Morgan
The report that spread, the news that I share, can strongly influence the faith of others, and could influence irreversible decisions that can impact eternity.
Am I a “God’s got this and He told us so” kind-of person?
OrÂ
Am I a “I know what God said, but I don’t see how” kind-of person?
We have to let our faith, not our fear influence the report that we spread.
Live my life the way God planned, the way God leads, according to His ways and His timing or risk being buried in a grave of gluttony.
So that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah (which means “graves of gluttony”) because there they buried the people who had craved meat from Egypt.
Numbers 11:34
Let my faith, not fear influence the report I give.
