"However, if you do not listen to me or obey all these commands."

Leviticus 26:14

The “however” of disobedience should cause us to tremble.

The realization and the manifestation of the consequences of our sin that occur when He removes His hand of protection and provision from us should cause us to repent immediately and return to God. 

God is not out to get you. He removes His protection and provision so we experience the result of our sin.

Divine discipline is:

• Rooted in love.
  As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father?
  Hebrews 12:7
• Results in righteousness (right living).
  No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening — it’s painful! But afterward  there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. Hebrews 12:11

Remember we:

• Reap what we sow.
  Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
  Galatians 6:7 (ESV)

In the jubilee year, the land must be returned to the original owners so they can return to their family land.
Leviticus 25:28b

People got their land back!

Am I living in the alternative of the however of my sin, or am I living through the sovereign divine discipline of a Heavenly Father who loves me?
