Not yet

Two full years later, Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing on the bank of the Nile River.

Genesis 41:1

My Takeaways

Something Old

“It is beyond my power to do this,” Joseph replied. “But God can tell you what it means and set you at ease.”
Genesis 41:16

Something New

  • The cupbearer always is slighted for “forgetting” Joseph for two years.
  • God’s answer was “not yet.”
  • Had Joseph been set free two years earlier he would not have a dream to interpret.
  • Had Joseph not had a dream to interpret, he would not have come up with a plan to save people from famine.
  • Had Joseph not come up with a plan, he would not have been made second in command in Egypt.
  • Had Joseph not been made second in command in Egypt, he would not have saved his family.
  • God works in the “not yet” many times in Joseph’s life.
  • God had a plan.
  • God made a promise.
  • He works through all things to keep His promises.
  • And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
    Romans 8:28

Something to do

God is working in the “not yet” in your life. Thank Him for the “not yet.”
