Things Aren’t Always As They Seem

So he took Joseph and threw him into the prison where the king’s prisoners were held, and there he remained.

Genesis 39:20

My Takeaways

Something Old

When it seems:

  • I am alone, I am not. God is always with me.
  • Others forget me, and let us down. God won’t do either.
  • God isn’t working; He’s just working things out for my good.
  • Things are falling apart; they are just falling in place.
  • The injustice against me won; God will get justice for me.

With the Lord, things are always better than they seem.

Something New

Instead of hurting him, let’s sell him to those Ishmaelite traders. After all, he is our brother—our own flesh and blood!” And his brothers agreed.
Genesis 37:27

More evidence of how Abraham and Sarah’s manipulation of God’s plan affected the perfect plan He had for blessing His people, and all the nations throughout the world.

Something to do

With the Lord, things are always better than they seem. I love the faith of this statement!
