And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

Colossians 2:6-10

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

• The human heart is made for worship. 
• Worship gives our attention, affection, and adoration to someone or something. 
• We give our attention to someone/something. 
• We give our affection to someone/something. 
• We give our adoration to someone/something. 
• Our hearts were made to worship God, sin has led us to worship lesser things. 
• “There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of each man which cannot be satisfied by any created thing but only by God the Creator, made known through Jesus Christ.” - Blaise Pascal
• In Paul’s time, people had many dieties to choose from. 
• There were gods from many religions. 
• You could create your own system, 
• There were false teachers mixing lies with truth.
• Confusion abounded among new believers. 
• They had lived in a “religious stew” their whole lives; it was normal. 
• Paul writes of the supremacy of Christ. 
• Christ is above all principalities. 
• Christ is above all powers. 
• Christ is above all religious standards. 
• Christ is deeper than any mystery. 
• Christ is stronger than any force. 
• Christ was before the beginning. 
• All things were created through Him and for Him. 
• Christ is seated above all for all eternity. 
• Theology gives us truth to cling to in every situation. 

Know the sufficiency of Christ. Know the supremacy of Christ. Cling to truth in every situation.
