If only someone would listen to me! Look, I will sign my name to my defense.
‍Job 31:35a
I can’t imagine having the majesty of God opposing me. Forbid it Lord.
For if the majesty of God opposes me, what hope is there?
Job 31:23b
‍
Things to consider before I declare my innocence and step on God’s scale of justice
Does my life reflect:
- Honesty and forthrightness? (Job 31:5)
- A passion for God and His ways, and guardship of my flesh? (Job 31:7-12)
- Fair treatment if all people regardless of their status, rather than showing partiality? (Job 31:13-15)
- Kindness to those less fortunate, specially the orphaned and widowed, rather than hoarding all I have? (Job 31:16)
- Generosity with all that I have, rather than being selfish? (Job 31:17-20)
- Humility and trust in God rather than money and things of this world? (Job 31:24-25)
- Worship of God rather than idols? (Job 31:26-27)
- Patience for God’s justice, rather than exacting it myself? (Job 31:29-30)
- Hospitality to strangers, rather than rudeness? (Job 31:31-32)
- Forthright about my sin, rather than living in denial? (Job 31:33)
Praise be to God, because of Jesus, I can climb on the scale of justice and sign my name to declare with confidence my innocence. In response to what Jesus did for me, I desperately want my life to reflect all the items in the list.

Live my life in complete surrender, full of gratitude that I am forgiven.
