One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

Luke 18:1

Also, [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).

Persistence in prayer transforms our:

• Character to match the character of God. 
• Heart to care about the things God cares about.
• Will to bend toward God’s will.
• Spirit to yes and amen to the answer God gives.
• Frustration to peace, trusting God will make all things right.

• Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

• Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer.

• Continue steadfastly in prayer.

• Pray without ceasing.

The man that thanked and praised God was a Samaritan.

He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan.
