And give these rebels, the people of Israel, this message from the Sovereign LORD: O people of Israel, enough of your detestable sins!

Ezekiel 44:6

Now say to the rebellious, to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the LORD God: “O house of Israel, let Us have no more of all your abominations.

We bear the consequences of our unfaithfulness to God when we:

Fail to nourish our faith and protect the sacraments of our faith 

• Instead of safeguarding my sacred rituals, you have hired foreigners to take charge of my sanctuary.
  Ezekiel 44:8

Refuse to guard our gates

• Instead of safeguarding my sacred rituals, you have hired foreigners to take charge of my sanctuary.

Allow personal relationships with those who have no heart from God 

• You have brought uncircumcised foreigners into my sanctuary—people who have no heart for God. 
  Ezekiel 44:7a

Permit idol worship

• And the men of the tribe of Levi who abandoned me when Israel strayed away from me to worship idols must bear the consequences of their unfaithfulness.
  Ezekiel 44:10

Sin, all sin, intentional, by error, or in ignorance must be atoned for.

Do this also on the seventh day of the new year for anyone who has sinned through error or ignorance. In this way, you will purify the Temple.
Ezekiel 45:20

Live rightly and experience the generous blessing and favor that is associated with faithfulness rather than bear the consequences of unfaithfulness.
