Delivering Life-Saving News

When the watchman sees the enemy coming, he sounds the alarm to warn the people.

Ezekiel 33:3

My Takeaways

Something Old

Many of us, at some time or the other have masqueraded as a self-appointed watchman.

A Watching Man/Woman warns and examines and someone’s life

  • for error/sin with the intent to judge
  • with condemnation and humiliation
  • through criticism and fear mongering of the future

A Watchman/woman demonstrates concern and warns someone while

  • Illuminating the person’s life with God’s love and His Word
  • Offering the hope of forgiveness and restoration through faith in Christ
  • Warning them of an escapable final judgment

Remember

  • If the watchman did not warn the people about God’s judgment, then the blood of those who perished would be held against the watchman.

Something New

I think it is so interesting that we see actual months and dates we know.

On March 17, during the twelfth year, another message came to me from the LORD:
Ezekiel 32:17

Something To Do

Be a watchwoman, not a watching woman.
