The LORD is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.

Lamentations 3:25

Good: towb (tobe) pleasant, agreeable, good; that a soul be without knowledge is not good.

The Lord is good to those who:

The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25 (ESV)

Depend on Him

Search for Him

• daw-rash' (to resort to, seek) seek deity in prayer and worship: tread (wheat), read repeatedly, study

It is good to:

Wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord

It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:26 (ESV)

• dumam (doo-mawm') a silence, in silence, silently

It is good to:

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. Lamentations 3:27 (ESV)

• nasa or nasah (naw-saw') to lift, carry, take

Spurgeon suggested many reasons why it is good to bear the yoke when young:

It is good because 

• obedience to God is best learned when young
• it saves from a thousand snares
• it keeps from bearing the devil’s yoke
• it gives you more years to serve God
• it gives one many years of experience

Jeremiah couldn’t understand the good of God until he understood and trusted the sufficiency of God.

• I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” Lamentations 3:24

I wonder how I have angered the Lord.

The LORD in his anger has cast a dark shadow over beautiful Jerusalem.

Trust the sufficiency of God so that I can fully experience His goodness even if it means waiting and discipline.
