This is how the LORD responds:
“If you return to me, I will restore you
so you can continue to serve me.
If you speak good words rather than worthless ones,
you will be my spokesman.
You must influence them;
do not let them influence you!

Jeremiah 15:19

The LORD gave me another message. He said, “Do not get married or have children in this place.”
Jeremiah 16:1-2

• Jeremiah had pleaded for their repentance. 
• Jeremiah pleaded for God’s mercy in spite of their continuing sin. 
• Jeremiah complains about his own life. 
• God rebukes him. 
• God speaks to Jeremiah, not Judah. 
• Jeremiah has been influenced.
• There are many influences in our world that would pull us away from God and the Bible. 
• We must be dedicated to living for God. 
• We must be dedicated to the truth of the Word of God. 
• We must be dedicated to a clear presentation of the Gospel. 
• We must be influencers in the world. 
• We must not be influenced by the world.
