The LORD is king! He is robed in majesty. Indeed, the LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.

Psalm 93:1

When my world feels like it is shaking, God’s Word says “the world stands firm, and cannot be shaken.”

The world cannot be shaken because

• God’s throne is still occupied.
• God’s power is mightier.
• God’s laws remain unchanged
• God’s reign is forever.

Psalm 93 is one of the theocratic, or enthronement psalms, that describe God in role as sovereign and righteous ruler. 

We cry out:

How long, O LORD? How long will the wicked be allowed to gloat? How long will they speak with arrogance? How long will these evil people boast? They crush your people, LORD, hurting those you claim as your own. They kill widows and foreigners and murder orphans.
Psalm 94:3-6

They think:

“The LORD isn’t looking,” they say, “and besides, the God of Israel doesn’t care.”
Psalm 94:7

We beg:

God will turn the sins of evil people back on them. He will destroy them for their sins. The LORD our God will destroy them.
Psalm 94:23

Because the world is firm and not shaken, I can stand firm and not shaken.
