“Come, let us return to the LORD.
He has torn us to pieces;
now he will heal us.
He has injured us;
now he will bandage our wounds.
In just a short time he will restore us,
so that we may live in his presence.
Oh, that we might know the LORD!
Let us press on to know him.
He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn
or the coming of rains in early spring.”

Hosea 6:1-3

At that time I will plant a crop of Israelites
and raise them for myself.
I will show love
to those I called ‘Not loved.’
And to those I called ‘Not my people,’
I will say, ‘Now you are my people.’
And they will reply, ‘You are our God!’”
Hosea 2:23

• Hosea calls the people to repentance. 
• The people had turned away from God. 
• They didn’t even want to really know the one true God. 
• They were content with trying to approach God like they would approach Baal. 
• They wanted God to work according to their formula. 
• They wanted God to be their god, without having to be His people. 
• Blessings without obedience. 
• Happiness instead of holiness. 
• They wanted “people mover” religion. 
• Life with God is more like climbing Mt. Everest. 
• It takes obedience. 
• It takes perseverance. 
• It takes endurance. 
• It takes continually responding to God. 

The walk of faith is not just something we start and let it go on auto-pilot. We constantly return to the Lord. It is a lifetime of responding to Him…not just one time. Keep going!!
