Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline,
to help them understand the insights of the wise.

  • We all want to be wise. 
  • Proverbs explains the practical guidelines of life that exhibit wisdom. 
  • But it also calls us out as fools. 
  • Scripture is like a mirror. 
  • James 1:22-25
  • What does a foolish life look like?
  • A fool despises wisdom and instructions. Proverbs 1:7
  • A fool is right in his own eyes. Proverbs 12:15
  • A fool makes a mockery of sin. Proverbs 14:9
  • A fool hides hate with lying and utters slander. Proverbs 10:18
  • A fool does mischief for sport. Proverbs 10:23
  • A fool has a perverted mouth. Proverbs 19:1
  • A fool trusts in his own understanding. Proverbs 28:26
  • A fool utters all his mind. Proverbs 29:11
  • A fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” Psalm 14:1
  • Be mindful of these Scriptures. 
  • Ask God for wisdom. 
  • Walk in His ways.
