To rightly handle what you hear approach the situation and those in involved:
- In love.
- Inviting God into the conversation.
- Open to see the other point of view.
- Believing the best, rather than assuming the worst.
- Prepared for ways to bring reconciliation.
- Prayed up.
- Willing to sacrifice.
Verses concerning misunderstandings:
- Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Psalm 133:1 (ESV) - Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish.
Proverbs 18:13 - And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
James 3:18 - Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving].

Joshua never lost respect for Moses.
So be very careful to follow everything Moses wrote in the Book of Instruction. Do not deviate from it, turning either to the right or to the left.
