Today's Sponsor of the day is

Scripture:

EXODUS 29:1-31:18

Holy! Holy! Holy!

“These burnt offerings are to be made each day from generation to generation. Offer them in the LORD’s presence at the Tabernacle entrance; there I will meet with you and speak with you. I will meet the people of Israel there, in the place made holy by my glorious presence. Yes, I will consecrate the Tabernacle and the altar, and I will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests. Then I will live among the people of Israel and be their God, and they will know that I am the LORD their God. I am the one who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I could live among them. I am the LORD their God.

Exodus 29:42-45

My Takeaways

Something Old

“Anoint Aaron and his sons also, consecrating them to serve me as priests. And say to the people of Israel, ‘This holy anointing oil is reserved for me from generation to generation. It must never be used to anoint anyone else, and you must never make any blend like it for yourselves. It is holy, and you must treat it as holy. Anyone who makes a blend like it or anoints someone other than a priest will be cut off from the community.’”
Exodus 30:30-33

Something New

  • God is holy.
  • To be holy means to be set apart and sacred.
  • To be holy means to be morally blameless, pure, and without sin.
  • The holiness of God makes Him distinct from all of His creation.
  • The holiness of God influences all of His other attributes.
  • Holiness is who God is.
  • God acts from His holiness.
  • God speaks from His holiness.
  • God works in the world from His holiness.
  • He is perfect.
  • Holiness is the only attribute of God to be repeated three times in this way.
  • It is a theological term called trihagion, which means “three holies.”
  • Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8
  • This emphasizes His holiness, perfection, and power.
  • This is the essential attribute of God to understand.
  • God’s holiness drives Him to rid the world of anything that is not holy because it corrupts what He has made.
  • Holiness is an incommunicable attribute.
  • Only in Christ do we become the righteousness of God.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:21
  • Through the blood of Jesus, we are restored to a position of holiness in Christ.
  • Hebrews 10:10
  • Sanctification makes us more holy as we grow in Christlikeness every day.
