Before Moses left Midian, the LORD said to him, “Return to Egypt, for all those who wanted to kill you have died.”
Exodus 4:19
There may be a time in your life when God instructs you to return to your Egypt… a place of harm, hard times, painful memories, and uncertainty. Obedience doesn’t mean smooth sailing; it often means more trouble.
Some things to know about returning to your Egypt
You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.
Psalm 139:5 (ESV)
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19Â
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8Â
The same God who was with Moses in Midian and his return to Egypt hems us in, supplies all our needs, and never changes. All we have to do is trust and call on Him. He responded when Moses called Him, and He will respond when you call on Him.
Worship this Same God now.
I love the humanity of Moses. Even after the visual lesson “I will be with you. I’ll supply the power” in Exodus 4:1-4, Moses still felt inadequate and powerless. I can so relate to Moses.
But Moses argued with the LORD, saying, “I can’t do it! I’m such a clumsy speaker! Why should Pharaoh listen to me?”
Exodus 6:30
‍
I’m overwhelmed that I have the privilege to call on and worship the same God of Moses.
