Living in Harmonious Faith

Genesis 21:12

My Takeaways

Something Old

There are consequences to our sin… sometimes the consequences come later than sooner, and this is the case with the Abraham and Hagar situation.

David Guzik made me think of this story in a fresh way.

“There can be no reconciliation with the flesh.” - David Guzik

Reconcile:

  • to bring into agreement or harmony; make compatible or consistent:

To live a life of harmonious faith we must

  • Reconcile ourselves to Holy Spirit.
  • Refuse our flesh.

We have to say:

  • No to our flesh, when we don’t, there will be a price to pay.
  • Yes to Holy Spirit, when we do, there will be blessings to reap.

Refusing to reconcile with my flesh, and maintaining a state of reconciliation through obedience, repentance and trust is the only way to life in harmonious faith with the Lord.

Child of the free woman and child of the slave woman: Galatians 4:21-30

Something New

Genesis 22 is another example of Abraham’s blind faith. (See RTW lesson January 5, 2025)

Something to do
