But consider the joy of those corrected by God!
Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.

• Job’s friend Eliphaz came to Job with advice. 
• Job is experiencing extreme turmoil and trouble. 
• Eliphaz stated that every person who God corrects is blessed. 
• Eliphaz stated that a person should not despise God’s discipline. 
• Eliphaz is correct in these statements. 
• One problem. 
• Job is not being disciplined.
• Eliphaz feels that apparently Job had done something against God and was now paying for it. 
• Eliphaz had the right words, at the wrong time. 
• The events that were happening were a test to prove Job’s faithfulness to God. 
• It is easy to stand on the outside looking at a situation another person is going through and begin to judge what is going on. 
• God is not always disciplining a person. 
• Sometimes God allows things to happen to build the person’s faith. 
• Be careful not to take God’s words out of context. 
• Be careful not to misapply God’s words at the wrong time. 
• Be an encourager.
