“Listen! A farmer went out to plant some seed.”
Mark 4:3
Jesus told us the seeds represent the Word of God. We are likened to the farmer. Our responsibility as believers of the Word is to sow, plant the Word of God in the “soil” of the lives around us. At first glance, it seems the farmer haphazardly just tosses seed out, but this isn’t so. A smart farmer, who wants to yield a return would not just toss seed out carelessly. A wise farmer would scatter the seed on soil that had already been turned and tilled. Without a doubt, he had already done the prep work.Â
The farmer was responsible for three things:Â
It’s possible we overthink our role as “Faith Farmers.”Â
As “farmers” we aren’t responsible forÂ
The Elements
The EffectivenessÂ
We live in a results and rewards-based culture, so when we don’t see results for our efforts we tend to stop “farming.” Faith farming has three steps:
He will bring back us in at Harvest time. How glorious that will be!
I didn’t realize Jesus’ family tried to take Him away.
When his family heard what was happening, they tried to take him away. “He’s out of his mind,” they said.
