So, my people come pretending to be sincere and sit before you. They listen to your words, but they have no intention of doing what you say. Their mouths are full of lustful words, and their hearts seek only after money.

Ezekiel 33:31

Not just this word from Ezekiel, but every word from every prophet who was sent by God’s grace to warn the people of what was coming. Isn’t God so graceful?

When I ask for a word from God, how do I respond to God?

• Sit and act sincere knowing I have no intentions of obeying.
• Grumble and complain because I don’t like what I hear?
• Rebel and resist His Lordship in my life.

We will not listen to your messages from the LORD! We will do whatever we want.
Jeremiah 44:16-17a

How to destroy myself and my relationship with God?

And now the LORD God of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, asks you: Why are you destroying yourselves?
Jeremiah 44:7

To this very hour you have shown no remorse or reverence. No one has chosen to follow my word and the decrees.
Jeremiah 44:10

Show no:

• remorse for sin.
• reverence for God.
• respect for the Word
• intention to obey

Don’t pretend with God. If I seek Him, find Him, and ask Him, then when He answers, my response is to obey.
