Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.‍

Psalm 139:23-24

O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
Psalm 139:1

• God is omniscient.
• He knows everything. 
• He knows us better than we know ourselves. 
• That fact can be comforting…and scary. 
• We can’t “play the part” in front of God. 
• He sees our anxious thoughts. 
• These thoughts are rooted in a lack of trust in God and His purposes. 
• Any thoughts that cause us to be troubled, disturbed, or worried. 
• Anxious thoughts show that we are too focused on ourselves. 
• Anxious thoughts show that we are too focused on the cares of this world. 
• Matthew 6:33-34
• God knows that our anxious thoughts weigh us down and lead us away from Him. 
• David is right to ask a scary thing. 
• David asks God to examine his heart. 
• David asks God to examine his mind. 
• Davis asks God to remove any self-deception. 
• David asks God to reveal the things that he should confess. 
• David asks God to reveal the burdens that he should give to God. 
• David asks God to lead him.
• We should ask the same.

Continually ask God to search me, show me, and lead me. Only His way is everlasting.
