And you must always obey the LORD’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.

• He knows we forget. 
• This verse is a restatement of the Shema.

• This is also what Jesus called the greatest commandment under the Law.

• What does it mean to love God? 
• Love: the act of putting someone before yourself; serving the interest and well being of another. 
• Often we feel God is distant or we are disconnected from Him. 
• Is that because of a worldly definition of love? 
• Love is not a feeling. 
• Love is an action. 
• Loving God means we put Him first in all things. 
• To love God with our hearts is to center our affections on Him. 
• To love God with our minds is to renew our minds with His Word. 
• To love God with our souls is to direct all that we are (actions, word, and deed) toward Him. 
• To love God will all of our strength is to love Him as much as He loves us.
