People with a Purpose

My Takeaways

Something Old

I am the LORD your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery.

You must not have any other god but me.
Exodus 20:2-3

Something New

God set apart a person: Abraham.

He grew Abraham into a family through Isaac.

He grew the family of Isaac through Jacob.

He moved the family of Jacob through Joseph.

He grew them into the children of Israel.

He set them free from bondage.

He will take them into the land promised to Abraham.

There they will represent God to the world.

The laws of the Old Testament are civil law, ceremonial law/ritual, and moral law.

The moral law still stands.

The civil law and ceremonial law served the purpose of making a people different.

God places them in the midst of pagan people…with laws that will make them strange and different.

That is the point.

They are His representatives.

They are to be different.

In every way.

So are we.

Something To Do

Live as people set apart with a purpose. Exalt the name of Jesus at all times!
