Satan replied to the LORD, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”

‍Job 1:9-11

Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. He said,“I came naked from my mother’s womb,and I will be naked when I leave.The LORD gave me what I had,and the LORD has taken it away.Praise the name of the LORD!”

• Suffering is a global reality.
• We live in a world full of natural evil: diseases, disasters, and death.
• We live in a world full of moral evil.
• All people experience suffering.
• Satan intends every type of suffering to take us down.
• God intends every type of suffering to sanctify us.
• Remember the mystery of God’s will.
• God is sovereign.
• We are responsible.
• God is in control.
• We make choices.
• God is worthy of all glory in a world full of evil and suffering.
• Our ultimate aim in suffering is to adore and exalt the glory of God.
• God is with us in our suffering.
• God is for us in our suffering.
• In order for us to see suffering for why it’s here, we must see sin for what it is and see ourselves for who we are.

• God saves us through His Son’s suffering.
• Without suffering, there would be no salvation.
• Suffering exists for our good, and God’s glory.
• Why Does God Allow Evil and Suffering?

Change your perspective. Look for God to be glorified. Look for God’s plan at work. Consider eternity. Consider the Kingdom. God uses ALL THINGS for our good and His glory!
