My Shepherd

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

Psalm 23:1

My Takeaways

Something Old

I think most every believer has said this at least once in their faith journey.  Aren’t we thankful that He never abandons us?

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help? Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief.
Psalm 22:1-2

Something New

I’ve read it.
I’ve rehearsed it.
I’ve recited it.
I’ve taught it.

But I’ve never seen it this way before.

  • When my Shepherd could take me out and away from the valley, He leaves me there, allowing me the privilege, privacy, and comfort of His presence.
  • When my Shepherd could take me out and away from my enemy, He leaves me there, feeds a meal of His protection, purpose, and love to show my enemies the power of His presence.
  • When my enemies pursue me with weapons of destruction, my Shepherd never leaves me, and moreover, He pursues me with His goodness, and unfailing love all the days of my life.

Basically, my Shepherd mocks my enemies… oh, how I love that! Help me remember this truth, Lord.

Something to do

Worship and praise my Shepherd. My Shepherd
