Today's Sponsor of the day is

Scripture:

GENESIS 32:1-35:27

The Lasting Legacy Of A Limp

(Even today the people of Israel don’t eat the tendon near the hip socket because of what happened that night when the man strained the tendon of Jacob’s hip.)

Genesis 32:32

My Takeaways

Something Old

This left Jacob all alone in the camp, and a man came and wrestled with him until the dawn began to break.
Genesis 32:24

“Jacob prayed to be delivered from Esau, but he really needed to be delivered from himself.” - Warren Wiersbe

Can you relate?

Sometimes we have to be

  • Broken to be healed.
  • Weakened to be strengthened.
  • Defeated to be victorious.

Sometimes we have to wrestle with God to see His face, experience His grace, and receive His new mercies…. which come in the morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), which was when the wrestling match between God and Jacob ended.

Welcome and walk confidently with the limp of your wrestling matches with God.

“God fights against us with his left hand, and for us with His right hand.” - John Calvin.

Something New

I wonder if what happened to Dinah would have been avoided if Jacob had gone with Esau.

Something to do

Pray to God. Trust Him. Wrestle with Him when necessary. Walk confidently with my limps.
