But no one who drinks the old wine seems to want the new wine. ‘The old is just fine,’ they say.
Luke 5:39
“Jesus came to introduce something new, not to patch up something old. This is what salvation is all about. In doing this, Jesus doesn’t destroy the old (the law), but He fulfills it.” – David Guzik
Jesus’ new is always better than the something old, no matter how good the old might seem.
We don’t accept new because we don’t:
Old
Every old will be transformed each time we trust God with it.
They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.”
Mark 2:4-5
Sometimes it our friend’s faith that carries us to our healing.
Be the friend who carries others to Jesus.
Trust God, submit to His work in making the old new in my life. Don’t live with the “old is fine” mentality.
