So on October 8 Ezra the priest brought the Book of the Law before the assembly, which included the men and women and all the children old enough to understand.

What can the book do for me?

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
2 Timothy 3:16

• Teach me: applied Christian doctrine as it applies to lifestyle
• Reproof me: inner conviction focuses on God
• Correct me: restoration to the proper condition
• Train me: instructing someone to reach maturity

All for what?

• God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Here is the list of the Jewish exiles of the provinces who returned from their captivity. King Nebuchadnezzar had deported them to Babylon, but now they returned to Jerusalem and the other towns in Judah where they originally lived.
