To this very hour you have shown no remorse or reverence. No one has chosen to follow my word and the decrees I gave to you and your ancestors before you.

How do I respond to God’s message from God’s messenger each Sunday when He preaches? For forty years they mocked, ignored, insulted, and injured Jeremiah… for forty years he was faithful to his calling.

And now the LORD God of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, asks you: Why are you destroying yourselves? For not one of you will survive—not a man, woman, or child among you who has come here from Judah, not even the babies in your arms.
Jeremiah 44:7

What a great question?!

The one simple lesson we learn from the Israelites:

Disobedience will lead to my destruction.
Period.
The.
End.

Obedience will lead to abundant life.

• Gives joy.
  Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.

• Gives freedom
  I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.

• Gives life.
  I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.

• Gives strength
  Therefore, be careful to obey every command I am giving you today, so you may have strength to go in and take over the land you are about to enter.

Why not just obey God and live fully in joy, freedom, life, and strength?
