So Jeremiah returned to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah, and he lived in Judah with the few who were still left in the land.
Jeremiah 40:6
His mercy is sometimes displayed by leaving us in the ruins so we can we experience His:
- Presence most intensely.
- Compassion most immensely.
- Provision most extravagantly.
Don’t try to get out of our ruins prematurely
- Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
James 1:2-4 (MSG) - Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate. For such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life.
James 1:12 (MSG) - I know how great this makes you feel, even though you have to put up with every kind of aggravation in the meantime. Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it’s your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.
1 Peter 1:6-7 (MSG)
How did Jeremiah find such favor from Nebby K? I wonder if Nebby K knew Yahweh was using him to comfort and love His servant.
Stay in the ruins until everything has been redeemed or God tells me to move. Stay in the ruins with my Sovereign Lord and allow Him to lavishly care for me.
