And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart.

Ezekiel 11:19

The Lord has so much hope.  This will be the last time I will ever have to punish my people.  Surely this will be it.  Surely, I will not have to discipline them again.

The Lord had hope for His people then, that finally they would turn to and know Him. He gave them promise of

• A Singleness of heart
• A new spirit
• A tender, responsive heart

And in last hours, Jesus had hope of unity in heart and spirit for us, “all who will ever believe.” He prayed on our behalf.

John 17

• I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.
  John 17:20
• I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.
  John 17:21
• I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one.
  John 17:22
• I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.
  John 17:23

Ezekiel did as he was told. I’m sure immediate obedience pleases the Father.

So, I did as I was told. In broad daylight I brought my pack outside, filled with the things I might carry into exile. Then in the evening while the people looked on, I dug through the wall with my hands and went out into the night with my pack on my shoulder.
Ezekiel 12:7
