Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the LORD tested Joseph’s character.
Psalm 105:19
Trials test our character, Joseph passed.
About trials
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
James 1:2-4
Not if, but when
Then
Not if, but when
Then
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Romans 5:3-5
We can rejoice in trials because
What are my trials developing in me?
So…
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So, when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
1 Peter 1:6-7
The people refused to enter the pleasant land, for they wouldn’t believe his promise to care for them.
Psalm 106:24
I wonder what pleasant places I’ve missed because I wouldn’t believe God could/would care for me.
In remaining steadfast like Joseph, I’ll have a story tell, like Joseph.
