In that wonderful day when the LORD gives his people rest from sorrow and fear, from slavery and chains.
Isaiah 14:3
The LORD will give rest to believing Israel, on that day. Israel’s eyes will be opened to see the true Messiah. Glory to God!
Those who have trusted in Christ as Savior have entered our rest, our salvation already:
Salvation is the birthright to everyone who believes. Upon believing with our heart, and confessing with our mouth that Christ is Lord, we have entered our rest (I like to call it our spiritual rest). It is up to us whether or not we live in that rest while on earth.
- Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)
- If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced. 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. For Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Romans 10:9-13
But one day, one glorious day He will call those who believe, and we will experience the physical Presence of our Savior. Our faith will become sight! All of our sorrows will cease! Sicknesses will be healed! Bodies maimed by this world will be made whole! Hearts crushed by grief, and anguish will be mended!
- Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
Revelation 21:1-4
