You can be sure of this: The LORD set apart the godly for himself. The LORD will answer when I call to him.

Psalm 4:3

That being true we can be as certain as David that the LORD

• has set us apart for Himself.
• will answer when we call.

No matter what:

• people have done to ruin our reputation.
• groundless accusations are made.
• lies are told.

No if, ands, or buts about it; we are His, He is ours, and

• He has set us apart for Himself.
• He will answer when we call.

Observe the requirements of the LORD your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.

A huge “so that.” David knew, and wanted Solomon to know that success is experienced through obedience to God.
