Scripture:

The I Wills And I Will Nots

I will be careful to live a blameless life—when will you come to help me?

Psalm 101:2a

My Take Aways

Something Old

Great leaders lead by example.

He begins with himself. He will bring his own character and conduct into conformity with the way and will of Jehovah to Whom he offers his praise. Then he will govern according to the same standards.” – G. Campbell Morgan

I will

  • Sing of your love and justice. (Psalm 101:1)
  • Praise you with songs. (Psalm 101:1)
  • Be careful to live a blameless life. (Psalm 101:2)
  • Lead a life of integrity. (Psalm 101:2)
  • Refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. (Psalm 101:3)
  • Have nothing to do with people who deal with others crookedly. (Psalm 101:3)
  • Reject perverse ideas (Psalm 101:4)
  • Stay away from evil (Psalm 101:4)
  • Search for faithful people to be my companions (Psalm 101:6)

I will not

  • Tolerate people who slander (Psalm 101:5)
  • Endure conceit and pride (Psalm 101:5)
  • Allow deceivers in my home (Psalm 101:7)
  • Keep company with liars (Psalm 101:7)

Something New

Rise up, O God, and scatter your enemies.
Psalm 68:1a

David and I have something else in common.

Oh God, Commander of Heaven’s Armies, scatter Your enemies.

  • Make someone else great.
  • Make something else great.
  • Make myself great.

Something To Do

Follow David’s I wills, and I won’ts.
