In the first month of the year, the whole community of Israel arrived in the wilderness of Zin and camped at Kadesh. While they were there, Miriam died and was buried.
Numbers 20:1
Wilderness: a wild and uncultivated region, as of forest or desert, uninhabited or inhabited only by wild animals; a tract of wasteland.
This doesn’t sound like a place that anyone could survive, but we can and will survive our wilderness experiences because the wilderness is never, and will never too uncultivated and uninhabited for God to reach us.
A place to dwell as a result of discipline, because our sin, or another’s sin and we got caught up in it.
No matter how we get to the wilderness, God will get us through the wilderness. We need to accept the discipline and move on with the plan God has set before me and trust Him.
Despite my mess ups, God will continue to:
And we need to:
No matter where we, or where we are heading, with Christ, the future is always bright.
This isn’t new to me, but falls fresh every year. Moses was so faithful to God yet one act of unfaithfulness, and He misses entering into the Promised Land.
But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust me enough to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land I am giving them!”
Numbers 20:12
Keep myself out of the wilderness, but when I have to go, make the most of it.
