Scripture:

JOSHUA 18:1-19:48

Not Yet Obedience

But there remained seven tribes who had not yet been allotted their grants of land.

Joshua 18:2

My Take Aways

Something Old

Joshua 18:3

  • Then Joshua asked them, “How long are you going to wait before taking possession of the remaining land the LORD, the God of your ancestors, has given to you?
  • And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye are slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you? (KJV)

Simply put, “not yet” obedience is disobedience.

It is possible our “not yet obedience” is due to:

  • Fear of the unknown
  • Fear of change
  • War weariness
  • Satisfaction with the status quo
  • Our understanding of the situation

God said:

  • ·For my angel will go before you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites, so you may live there. And I will destroy them completely.
    Exodus 23:23
  • In those towns that the LORD your God is giving you as a special possession, destroy every living thing.
    Deuteronomy 20:16

We must have faith in His faithfulness.

Something New

What is keeping me from my place of promise? Fear of the unknown? Fear of change? War weariness? Satisfaction with the status quo? My understanding of the situation?

Something To Do

Don’t let anything keep me from the places God has given me to occupy.
