Scripture:

NUMBERS 11:1-13:33

How Often Do I…

But Moses responded to the Lord…
Numbers 11:21a

My Take Aways

Something Old

There are 600,000 foot soldiers here with me, and yet you say, ‘I will give them meat for a whole month!’ Even if we butchered all our flocks and herds, would that satisfy them? Even if we caught all the fish in the sea, would that be enough?
Numbers 11:21b-22

There’s a problem, well, a perceived problem (not to enough meat to feed the people they are whining about). Moses felt the obligation to solve this problem.

“How often do I” questions:

  • continue to whine when things are going like I think they should be going, but God is taking great great care of me?
  • assume responsibility to bring resolution to a problem that isn’t mine to solve?
  • attempt to bring resolution that is my responsibility before discussing things with God?
  • limit God’s power by interfering, rather than allowing God to do His thing?
  • miss the experience of a lifetime with God, because I carried the weight of resolution that wasn’t mine to carry?

Instead:

  • Trust more than question.
  • Believe more than doubt.
  • Thank more than complain.

Something New

What if I spoke as if I truly believed God heard everything I said?Soon the people began to complain about their hardship, and the Lord heard everything they said.
Numbers 11:1

Something To Do

Wendy, trust more than question. Believe more than doubt. Thank more than complain.
