Scripture:

DEUTERONOMY 6:1-9:29

Wholehearted Commitment

And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.
Deuteronomy 6:6

My Take Aways

Something Old

Understanding Wholehearted

  • completely and sincerely devoted, determined, or enthusiastic
  • marked by complete earnest commitment: free from all reserve or hesitation

We have to decide whether we will be, before we commit to be.

Will I be wholeheartedly commitment to obedience in the Lord’s ways?

The How-Tos of Wholehearted Commitment

  • Commit to obey
Tell God you are all in and ask for help
  • Repeat the way
To our self and to God
  • Talk about the way
    Invite accountability
  • Tie the way
Learn all about it. (Put it in your mind)
  • Write the way
    Write it down

*way represents anything God asks us to do.

Something New

What wonderful reminder for me. Plenty can cause us to forget God.

But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today.
Deuteronomy 8:11

Reminds me of Proverbs 30:8-9 (NLT)
First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, “Who is the LORD?” And if I am too poor, I may steal and thus insult God’s holy name.

Something To Do

I’m in.
