In the second year after Israel’s departure from Egypt—on the twentieth day of the second month—the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle of the Covenant. So the Israelites set out from the wilderness of Sinai and traveled on from place to place until the cloud stopped in the wilderness of Paran.
Numbers 10:11-12

‘May the Lord bless you and protect you.May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’
Numbers 6:24-26

• Numbers is an often overlooked book.
• Many times people will skip reading it because it doesn’t make sense to them…all of those numbers!
• None of the books of Moses make sense apart from the others.
• Numbers shows us that God honors faith and punishes unbelief.
• The root of sin is unbelief…not trusting in God’s Word.
• This will be shown continually throughout Numbers.
• Complaining.
• Rebelling.
• Disobeying.
• Immorality.
• There is a price to pay for unbelief.
• Pay attention to movement throughout the book.
• Pay attention to time…it flies!
• Ch 1-10: 20 days
• Ch 11-14: 70 days
• Ch 15-20: 38 years
• Ch 21-36: 5 months
• Above all, see the God who is faithful despite His people’s failures.

Don’t get distracted by the failures of the people. They are sinners, and they will act like sinners. Be in awe of a loving God that is faithful despite what His people do. Remember He is the Hero of the Story.
