Hang the inner curtain from clasps, and put the Ark of the Covenant in the room behind it. This curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.
Exodus 26:33
The curtain was a constant reminder that sin:
God put the curtain up, and God tore the curtain down.
And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.
Matthew 27:50-51 (ESV)
When God torn the curtain, He was telling the world He was through with the old religious system.
The cross is a constant reminder that sin is:
And because of the torn curtain:
Aaron was their high priest and bore the guilt of their sins.
Aaron must wear it on his forehead so he may take on himself any guilt of the people of Israel when they consecrate their sacred offerings. He must always wear it on his forehead so the LORD will accept the people.
Exodus 28:38
Jesus is our high priest and bore the guilt of our sins.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
1 Peter 2:24 (ESV)
Celebrate the cross, thank God for the curtain then and now, worship Him.
