Disobedience offends God.

How do I avoid offending God so He will accept me, a living sacrifice?

And so, dear brothers, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living sacrifice, holy—the kind he can accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask?

Throw off, – quit participating in everything that offends God and

• Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Lay aside every:

• weight that pulls away from God
• Sin which clings closely

Let us:

• Run the race set before me
• Remain focused on Jesus

Why?

• Because we are royalty
  But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

I am SO grateful that Jesus obeyed God and fulfilled the law AND gave me the gift of the Holy Spirit to help me maintain the holiness that is mine because of my faith in Him.

Pursue holiness. Don’t do anything to offend God.
