Scripture:

EXODUS 1:1-2:25, 1 CHRONICLES 6:1-3, EXODUS 3:1-4:17

Confident Faith To Live Free

He said to his people, “Look, the people of Israel now outnumber us and are stronger than we are.”
Exodus 1:9

My Take Aways

Something Old

He said to his people, “Behold, the Israelites are too many and too mighty for us [and they outnumber us both in people and in strength].
Exodus 1:9 (AMPC)

And he said to his people, “Behold, the people of the sons of Israel are too many and too mighty for us.
Exodus 1:9 (NASB)

God’s people were strong in number and in force, but remained enslaved to Pharaoh.

Why?

Their enemy

  • wore them down to the point that they could only see themselves as weak, broken, worthless slaves with no confidence in who they were.
  • kept them from worshiping and experiencing their God.
  • worked hard to make them forget their God.

Our enemy

  • does the same thing to us. He doesn’t want us to know our strength, our value, or experience the power of our God.
  • knows our God and His power.
  • knows God plus me (my belief in God) can defeat Him.

Pharaoh didn’t want the Israelites to grow in number because they would become a greater threat.

Our enemy doesn’t want us to grow in our relationship with our Lord because he knows we will be a great threat to him, and his rule of this world.

We have to believe in who we are in Christ, despite our fears, faults, frailties and failures.

Even on our worst and weakest day, Satan is no match for us.

We have to build confident faith by:

  • Being in the Word.
  • Living out the Word, because reading it only proves we can read.
  • Praying about all things, all the time.
  • Living out the Word, did I say that already?

A spiritually confident believer lives in victorious freedom, even if the enemy seems to be winning.

  • I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
    John 16:33 (ESV)
  • But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”
    1 John 4:4
  • So, if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
    John 8:36
  • Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are His child, God has made you His heir.
    Galatians 4:7

Something New

I love that we can always learn something new in the Bible.

“Take this baby and nurse him for me,” the princess told the baby’s mother. “I will pay you for your help.” So, the woman took her baby home and nursed him.
Exodus 2:9

Pharaoh’s daughter paid Moses’ mother.

Something To Do

I am not a slave to the enemy or to sin. I am free! I will live like!
