Scripture:

ACTS 21:37-23:35

When He Speaks My Language

When they heard him speaking in their own language, the silence was even greater.

Acts 22:2

My Take Aways

Something Old

Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
1 Corinthians 2:12 ESV

When He speaks,

  • Lean in closer.
  • Turn competing noises down.
  • Put away distractions.

But how do I know He is speaking?

  • Spend time with Him so you can recognize His voice.
  • Obey Him, so you can confirm His leading.
  • Read the Word, so you are confident that what is being said is in agreement with it.

When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.
John 16:13 (ESV)

There is just something so special, and moving about communicating with the Spirit. It’s overwhelming!

Something New

“God is the master of the scenes; we must no choose what part we shall act; it concerns us only to be careful that we do it well, always saying, ‘If this please God, let it be as it is.‘” – Jeremy Taylor

Something To Do

Be ever so grateful at the privilege to speak the language of the Spirit, to understand the truths of His Word, and the enjoyment of His presence.
