Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
1 John 2:15
Things become conflicted when we try to love Him, loves others and love the world.
Thus, we are faced with the conflict of love.
We aren’t left alone when it comes to sin. God left us a helper. Holy Spirit is two-fold
As Christians, we have a different relationship with sin. Sin still has a pull, but it doesn’t have power.
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
Romans 6:14 (ESV)
“The Christian no longer loves sin; it is the object of his s”ternest horror: he no longer regards it as a mere trifle, plays with it, or talks of it with unconcern… Sin is dejected in the Christian’s heart, though it is not ejected. Sin may enter the heart, and fight for dominion, but it cannot sit upon the throne.” – Charles Spurgeon
John reminds us that we are not in this alone.
Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So, they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.
1 John 3:9
When someone is truly saved, and one with God, through Christ and Spirit, he or she cannot easily and thoughtlessly live a life of habitual sin, without conviction and repentance.
Don’t live in conflict.
